Increase Freedom with a Driver’s License
Unless a person lives in an urban area, driving a car is one of the most important skills they can possess. Being able to drive increases freedom and the ability to run errands, visit friends, and get to school or work on time. In order to learn how to drive, however, a good driving instructor is needed.
Use Word of Mouth
The best driving instructors are few and far between. They are patient and know when to encourage the student rather than let fears hold them back. They may be hard to find; the best driving instructors usually don’t need the extra business brought in by a flashy newspaper ad. They might not even have a car with a neon “Student Driver” sign on its roof. The good driving instructors can get by on referrals alone from happy customers to their friends and family. Ask around and see who is recommended by word of mouth. They might not be seen advertising elsewhere, and it’s because they don’t need to!
Check the Driving Instructor’s Test Pass Rate
It’s important to ask about the instructor’s driver’s test pass rates. Why bother? If their pass results are low, it might lead to the idea that they’re not the best driving instructor. Trust me, no one wants to schedule a driving test more than once or twice. They’re very stressful. It’s a good idea to go with the best driving instructor and get the whole ordeal over with sooner rather than later.
Get a Feel for Their Personality
Next, make sure that their attitude is on par with what would be expected. The best driving instructors are polite, have a good sense of humor, and won’t yell for small mistakes. After all, it’s expected for the student to make mistakes. That’s the whole point of the lessons! The best driving instructor has a personality that can be worked with to teach the right things without added tension. Make a phone call and talk to the driving instructor; does he or she seem friendly? Approachable? Okay to be stuck in a car with for hours while mistakes are made?
Cheaper Cost Doesn’t Mean Better
The last thing to be considered is the cost. A driving instructor worth the money may not have the cheapest price on the block. A price twenty percent lower than the going rate is there for a reason. It could be that the driving instructor is newly licensed and needs to build up more customers, or it could mean that he or she is awful and can’t keep students! The best driving instructors don’t need cheap gimmicks to get students in the door. Pay a little more in return for solid peace of mind.

Saving Money and the Environment
July 19th, 2011 - Posted by admin
If you want to save money on your gas bill, there is a school for that now. There is a fleet driver in East Lancashire offering courses to local businesses on how to save money while driving. Specifically, he’s offering tips on ways to drive which will use less gas. This has the dual benefit of being cheaper and environmentally friendly. This article details how it works and profiles the school and its founder.
In response to spiralling fuel costs, Paul Halton, who lives in Bacup, has set up an ‘eco-driving’ school which is the first of its kind in the county.
Mr Halton helps local firms cut the amount they spend on petrol and diesel by 20 per cent by improving drivers’ economy.
The best driving instructors can offer something unique to their students. You can learn the basics of driving out of a book–but driving instructors who are worth their salt can offer little tips and tidbits of knowledge that are fully worth knowing. It is for this reason that we really send our young ones to driving school–so that they can learn from the professionals who have interesting tools of the trade to teach. In this case, it is businesses that are the students and the “interesting tips” are ways to save both money and the environment.

Achieving Milestones Rather Than Striking
July 1st, 2011 - Posted by admin
If you were hoping to get your driving test done soon, you might want to hop on it now. The national strike has begun and it is expected to involve driving school instructors, too. Of course, the best driving lessons come from those who likely won’t be striking, but it is still important information nevertheless. This article goes over the aspects of society that the strike will effect pretty well. Hopefully the best driving schools won’t be closed too.
Driving tests: The Driving Standards Agency urged all driving test candidates booked to take a test today to attend as usual, saying they will be given a new date if there is a cancellation because of the strike.
Strikes are nothing new to Britain. Hopefully we can make it through this one and get back to giving young students drivers tests so they can get back to driving badly. Being able to take the driving test is an essential milestone in every teenager’s life–let’s get back to helping them achieve it.

Investing in Safety
June 18th, 2011 - Posted by admin
Driving instruction is absolutely essential to creating a good driving society. What is a driving society? That is the community of drivers in a particular area. You can only control how you drive, but you trust that everyone else on the road is going to abide by the same basic rules. This trust in others’ driving abilities is what keeps the roads from devolving into chaos.
People usually only receive driving instruction in a formal setting once in their lives. So, it is important that this driving instruction be high quality. Receiving an education is of paramount importance.
The best driving school can offer high quality driving instruction without sacrificing their classes on the altar of boredom too. The best driving lessons find ways to be both interesting and informative. Just like any other educational class, driving instruction classes need to be entertaining, intriguing, and fun.
Students find that when they can learn through an innovative process, they soak it up much better. Hopefully, driving schools can continue to improve upon their educational methods in order to make better drivers out of their students. Driving better should be a priority for everyone, so it would be good to see people investing in their own safety.

Tom Daley is an Olympic diver for the Great Britain and English teams and is expected to feature heavily in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Daley, only 17, is taking his first driving lessons in a MINI. Daley is a top quality diver who has won gold medals in multiple international competitions.
Daley will also be enrolled onto the MINI Drivers at Goodwood programme, the UK’s first dedicated motor circuit-based young driver training programme which is focused specifically on teaching safety and developing good driving habits.
Good luck to Daley in both his diving and driving exploits. Let us hopes he does great with each. Do Britain proud, Tom, whether in the water or on the road.
The best driving school will teach a kid how to drive safely first and foremost. Being comfortable behind the wheel is an essential part of being a good driver. Daley has the composure in an International swimming competition, surely he has it behind the wheel of a car. Even the best driving instructor can’t really teach this–you either have it or you don’t. But there are little tips that can be learned.

An Old Dog Teaching New Tricks
May 19th, 2011 - Posted by admin
In his hometown of Stockton, Jimmy Lewis has a life that he wouldn’t have thought possible before. He is the owner of a driving instruction school in his hometown at the age of sixty. Jimmy gets to enjoy it when one of his students passes the test, and he gets to work one on one with the students to teach them something he is undoubtedly passionate about. After losing his job, he thought he’d give driving instruction a shot.
“It was something I’d thought about a few years ago – I even had plans to retrain ready for when I retired. But now, being out of work, I suddenly saw it as a chance to launch a whole new career.” Jimmy made the big leap of faith and invested £2,500 of his redundancy money in courses.
Of course, this is not going to be the best driving school, nor is Jimmy going to be Britain’s best driving instructor. You will only find that at the companies that have rigorous training for teachers and require years upon years of experience.

While Texting
April 26th, 2011 - Posted by admin
Everyone has done a couple of dumb things while driving, but rarely has anyone done something like this. I mean, really? This woman, driving a bus full of children, decides to send explicit text messages? As if that weren’t bad enough, the bus driver sent those explicit text messages to girls under the age of 16 at a different school.
The GTC ruled that although Bate did not initiate the text message exchanges with the pupils from Matthew Arnold School in November 2008, he should have acted with “integrity and decency and maturity”.
This guy definitely made some mistakes, but everyone has emphasized the greater ones already–I won’t do that, I’ll talk about the lesser mistakes he made, not the least of which is that he wasn’t driving very safely if he was texting from behind the wheel of a school bus, a vehicle that is already difficult to operate. The best driving school will tell you that texting while driving is not safe. The best driving lessons will emphasize that message by showing you how many mistakes you can make when you are distracted by text messaging.

Long Distance Driving Tips
April 13th, 2011 - Posted by admin
Part of learning how to drive is learning how to drive safely for more than just three or four minutes to the store. Some of the toughest lessons to be learned about driving must be learned through long distance driving. Boredom, exhaustion, and a general lack of alertness can set in. This article gives a few tips on how to make a long distance drive more fun and more safe–both of which are extremely important.
Long distance driving can be tremendous fun or more tedious than a primary school musical. To maximise the chances of enjoying themselves – rather than counting the moments until the curtain falls – motorists can follow a few simple steps.
Amongst the tips are: Pick a suitable, safe car. Bring a map and satellite navigator. Take regular breaks and eat regularly. However, there is some other crucial advice–avoid making the car too warm and comfortable, falling asleep on a long drive is very easy but very dangerous. The best driving lessons emphasize the helpful tips to making driving more fun as well as the dangers. The best driving school you could attend is the one that emphasizes experience.

Ninety Times!
March 21st, 2011 - Posted by admin
The Driving Standards Agency, the prevailing authority for driving lessons in the United Kingdom, just released a tidbit of news that should entertain virtually anyone. One woman from South London appears to have failed the driving test a mind-bogglingly ninety times! The test, which costs only £31, has cost the Southwark native over £2790 to date.
According to Metro, a 26-year-old woman from Southwark, South London has spent £2,790 on the £31 test.
Further information from the DSA reportedly revealed that a 39-year-old man from the West Midlands had failed his practical test 36 times.
In 2009, it was reported that a woman in South Korea named Cha had passed her driving theory test on her 950th attempt.
After her 771st attempt, a traffic police officer admitted: “I feel sorry every time I see Cha fail.”
Surely there ought to be a cutoff point, right? Even the best driving school probably could not do much to help this woman. Even the best driving instructor would probably shy away from stepping into a vehicle with a woman who has failed a driving test ninety times. But that’s just a guess, maybe there is some brave soul out there who would prove me wrong.

Gimmicks and Tricks
March 15th, 2011 - Posted by admin
One of the most important ways that a driving school excels is by attracting news clientele. The best way to do that is to offer a good product at the lowest price. If that isn’t possible, or if that does not quite do the trick, then buying new cars for the students to drive is a suitable alternative.
one of the UK’s largest driving schools, has extended its successful relationship with Hyundai. The nationwide operation is adding ix35s to its driving school fleet, with the first lucky learners and instructors set to climb behind the wheel early next month.
Hyundai’s are nice cars, especially brand new ones. It is easy to see why the fleet of brand new cars would attract interested students and safety-conscious parents. If the vehicle offers the student a better driving experience, I don’t see why they shouldn’t be excited about it. The best driving school will find a way to get students excited regardless of how old the vehicle is. Of course, the best driving lessons often occur in a car that a student likes, so that they will remember the experience.

British Motorists and Their Reasons for Concern
February 24th, 2011 - Posted by admin
Motorists in Britain are just as varied as any other nationality is. However, a recent poll showed some trends amongst British motorists, like what concerns them when driving. Driving during holidays is one of the top concerns for British drivers.
The results of the poll, conducted by the car hire comparison website, suggested that 14% of British motorists abroad were stressed about not knowing the driving rules for the country they visit, 26% would be stressed with local drivers’ actions, 47% did not like driving in an unfamiliar area, and 10% found driving on the other side of the road to be stressful.
I suspect a poll conducted about any nationality’s driving concerns would find that holidays top the list, regardless of which nationality it is about. The article linked above not only points out some more poll results, but also offers some tips on how to de-stress the trip. The best driving instructor I ever had taught me little tips like that.
